Spring Sidewalk Sale and Historic Days in RhinebeckSometime we forget how lucky we are to be located in the charming, historic village of Rhinebeck. In the center of the Hudson Valley, just minutes from the majestic Hudson River, filled with local stores and shops offering some of the best shopping in the Hudson Valley, an array of fine restaurants and dining options showcasing the bounty of Hudson Valley farms, antiques, the historic Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, events at the Dutchess County fairgrounds, historic mansions and scenic parks, there is never a lack of things to do in Rhinebeck.

This weekend, May 16-18, 2014, The Rhinebeck Chamber of Commerce will showcase everything that Rhinebeck has to offer at the annual Spring Sidewalk Sale. In addition to many of our great neighborhood shops offering specials and discounts, the event will honor the 150th anniversary of the Great Fire in Rhinebeck that destroyed the south side of East Market Street, the 75th anniversary of the dedication of the Rhinebeck Post Office, and the 75th anniversary of the Rhinebeck Town Hall building.

“We are ready to honor our unique history in a big way at this year’s sidewalk sale. After all, there is no better place to showcase our past than our Historic village corridor – and as we mark major events from the past, we can enjoy the present as a community while supporting the future by shopping in our downtown district,” said Colleen Cruikshank, Executive Director of the Rhinebeck Area Chamber of Commerce.

Don’t miss some of our favorite shops and sites while in town: The Rhinebeck Department Store, Paper Trail, Oblong Books & Music, Winter Sun Summer Moon, Hammertown, The Rhinebeck Artist’s Shop, BlueCashew Kitchen Pharmacy, Beekman Arms Antique Barn and Cabin Fever Outfitters.

As always, our patio will be open for lunch and dinner and provides a great view of Rhinebeck Village!
